We can help you with your ADA compliance too!
Certified Access Specialists (CASp) - Certified Building Officials - Certified Accessibility Plans Examiners - Institute of Access Training Australia Certificate IV in Access Consulting.
Contractors follow the approved plans. We make sure the plans are complete with all the required disabled access notes and details.
No plans are reviewed by only one professional at CASp.me. We assign 2 or more accessibility consultants for every plan review.
Disabled access provisions have existed in the California Building Code since 1983. No building constructed after January 1, 1983 should be subject to an ADA lawsuit, but the majority of ADA lawsuits in the U.S. are in California. Current law requires only a CASp can perform disabled access plan reviews or inspections. Most building departments are not properly staffed to meet this requirement.
Discrepancies on approved plans is not justification for a building inspector CASp to accept work installed contrary to laws for disabled access. The contractors will install all work in accordance with the approved plans. Repairs of the installed work will be charged as a change order typically at a rate higher than the initial bid rate.
In addition to our International, U.S. and California credentials and experience in disabled access, we are working building officials, master code professionals and building plans examiners. We know the minimum building code provisions for emergency egress and other provisions that relate to disabled access.
We make site visits to help customers and contractors get it right the first time.
